After-prayer tasbih
Dhikr
Target
A tasbeeh counter (also called a tasbih or dhikr counter) keeps count of words of remembrance such as SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar, so you can focus on the words instead of the numbers. Tap the circle, press the space bar on a computer, or choose the 33 · 33 · 34 after-prayer sequence and the counter moves to the next phrase automatically.
The after-prayer tasbih
The Prophet ﷺ taught a short dhikr for the end of each prayer. In one narration it is SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu Akbar 34 times, making 100 (Sahih Muslim). In another, each of the three is said 33 times and the hundred is completed with La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir, with the promise that the person's sins are forgiven even if they are like the foam of the sea (Sahih Muslim). Choose either sequence above.
Words of dhikr in the counter
- SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi: whoever says it 100 times a day has their sins wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea (Bukhari, Muslim).
- Astaghfirullah: the Prophet ﷺ sought Allah's forgiveness more than seventy times a day (Bukhari).
- Salawat: whoever sends one blessing upon the Prophet ﷺ, Allah sends ten upon them (Muslim).
- La ilaha illallah: described as the best dhikr (Tirmidhi, graded hasan).
A counter is a convenience. Counting on your fingers is also from the Sunnah, and many people like to alternate.

Frequently asked questions
What do I say after every prayer?
A well-known Sunnah is SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu Akbar 34 times (Sahih Muslim). Another narration has 33 of each, completed to 100 with La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir (Sahih Muslim). Both are built into the counter.
Is using a tasbeeh counter allowed?
Counting dhikr with beads or a counter is widely considered permissible as a tool. Counting on the fingers is also a Sunnah: the Prophet ﷺ encouraged it, saying the fingers will be asked and made to speak (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi).
Does the counter save my count?
Your total for today is saved on your own device, so it survives a refresh. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I use it with the screen off?
Browsers can't count taps with the screen off. Keep the page open; on desktop you can press the space bar to count.
