Want this sound on 120+ royalty-free tracks?
Aswati Studio has the same slowed, sped-up and reverb presets built into its stem editor, on a library of voice-only nasheeds and vocal beds that are cleared for monetised videos, reels and client work. No copyright claims, no instruments.
A slowed and reverb generator lowers the playback speed of a track, which also lowers its pitch, and layers a long reverb on top so it sounds distant and atmospheric. This one does both in your browser: pick a preset such as Slowed + reverb (85% speed, large room), adjust the sliders while it plays, and export a WAV for your edit, reel or playlist.
How to use the slowed and reverb maker
- Choose your audio. Drop in an MP3, WAV or M4A, or try one of the free Aswati nasheeds.
- Pick a style. Slowed + reverb, Extra slowed, Light slowed, Sped up, Nightcore or Speed only.
- Fine-tune while it plays. Speed changes the tempo and pitch together; reverb amount and room size shape the tail.
- Export. You get a WAV named after your file, ready for CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut.
Which settings sound best?
- Classic slowed + reverb: 80 to 88% speed, reverb around 40 to 50%, room 3 to 4 seconds.
- Late-night or emotional edits: 72 to 78% speed with a big room. Keep the reverb under 60% so the voice stays clear.
- Sped up for reels: 115 to 125% speed with very little reverb, so it stays punchy.
- Nightcore: 125 to 135% speed. The higher pitch is the point.
Voice-only tracks take reverb beautifully because there are no drums or bass to smear. That is why slowed nasheeds work so well under reflective content. For more on pacing audio under speech, see vocals-only background music.
Slowed versions and copyright
A common myth is that slowing a song down, changing its pitch or adding reverb gets it past copyright checks. It does not: Content ID and Instagram's audio matching are built to recognise altered versions, and the original rights holder still owns the recording. If you want to post your edit, start from audio you are licensed to use. Every Aswati track is royalty-free and cleared for monetised content, so a slowed + reverb version of an Aswati nasheed is yours to publish. Not sure about a track? Run it through the YouTube copyright checker.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a song slowed and reverb?
Load the audio, choose the Slowed + reverb preset (85% speed with a large reverb), preview it, then export. To go further, lower the speed to around 75% and raise the reverb amount and room size.
Is this slowed and reverb generator free?
Yes. It is free, has no sign-up and no watermark, and it runs entirely in your browser, so your file is never uploaded.
Why does the pitch go down when I slow it?
That is the classic slowed sound: slowing the playback lowers the pitch, the same way a record played slower sounds deeper. Speeding up raises the pitch, which is how nightcore works.
Can I post a slowed version of a copyrighted song?
Slowing, pitching or adding reverb does not remove copyright, and YouTube and Instagram can still detect the original. Only process audio you own or are licensed to use. Aswati's voice-only tracks are cleared for monetised posts, so their slowed versions are safe to publish.
What file does it export?
A 16-bit stereo WAV at the original sample rate, which every video editor and social app accepts.
